36 Below and Their Golden Hour

A poster for a golden hour cocktail experience

Hidden inside a local coffee shop and down 12 steps, you will find 36 Below. This speakeasy is a mix of mystery and magic, with new concepts always being created. It's a great spot to disconnect from the outside world and enjoy handcrafted cocktails and some light bites.

During my visit, I got to experience their "Golden Hour", which is their take on a Happy Hour. You might not be familiar with this special, but it is a special that you do not want to miss out on. Every Sunday through Thursday (they are closed on Monday) from 5pm - 7pm (they have updated their time from what was originally on the flyer), you will find their Golden Hour specials. To start, you can enjoy $4 off all of their classic cocktails like a Bee's Knees, an Old Cuban or a classic Martini. With Classic Cocktails starting at $16, this puts you at $12 a drink, which is a great deal! The second special of Golden Hour is in my opinion the "real deal". The 36 Below Cocktail Experience will let you choose any 4 cocktails along with a hummus plate and is a great experience. They have a ton of fun cocktails to choose from and each one is crafted with time and thought. Presentation wise these drinks make for some pretty pictures and they also taste really good too. With lots of different layers to each drink, you can tell a lot of thought went into the creation of each one. Now with all their cocktails ranging from $16 - $22, this cocktail experience during their Golden Hour is only $50. Added with a hummus plate (normally $16) and this experience is a perfect date night find.

Outside of the Golden Hour timeframe, you can also enjoy The 36 Below Cocktail Experience for 2 ($79) or 4 ($150). You can also opt-in to upgrade from the hummus plate to the burrata plate or smoked salmon dip for an additional charge. Overall this has been one of my favorite speakeasy's to date that I have visited. Attention to detail, great drink selections and some light bites, you have to make sure you try it out for yourself!
